I have a cool way of making adjustments to your spreaders. If you have a garage, put your mast and jib up in the driveway and move the transom into the garage until the mast is right next to the edge of the roof. Then go up on the roof and everything is right there where it's easily measured and adjusted. Works great for me.

:: :: Do you have spreaders between the mast and shrouds? If

:: :: If you have spreaders, they apparently need to be longer
:: :: and less swept back.

:: :: Back in the day the wood masts had extreme bend, mostly
:: :: fore and aft. Sails were cut accordingly. But they had
:: :: no spreaders in the 50s and early 60s.
